ENDURO 250, STREET STOCK POINTS BATTLE CONTINUES SATURDAY AT FLAT ROCK
(Flat Rock, MI—July 30, 2014): Flat Rock Speedway jumps back into action Saturday night, August 2 with the third 250 lap Enduro of the season and a full race card for the ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stocks.
The first 2 Enduro races of this season have been all the Bennett brothers show. Danny Bennett slid by his brother Rick in the closing laps to win the May 250 lap contest, while Rick turned the tables on Danny in the June event. The duo are tied for the chase for the Enduro point Championship, and Saturday’s 250 lap event will be the third of 4 scheduled for the 2014 season. Robb Remick, Derrick Sheppard and Rayce Metdepenningen round out the top 5 in the point standings after 2 events. A field of 20-25 cars is expected.
For the first time, the Enduro race will use a rolling start, with the cars lined up 2 wide. The traditional standing start, lined up 3 wide, will take a break as the drivers will use the traditional green flag oval racing start procedure for Saturday’s race!
Flat Rock’s ARCA DTS Drive Train Specialists Street Stock class will hit the track after taking a 1 week break, as the battle for the 2014 track crown continues. Second-year driver Corey Duane leads Rob Moore by just 45 markers. Kyle Worley, Rich Frantz and Guy Fire are next in line in the point tally. Rich Abel leads Jeffrey Kurzyniec, Don Roberts, Chris Diovardi and Lonnie York in the B Main standings going into Saturday’s events.
The pit gate will open at 4 p.m., practice begins at 5, with both groups qualifying via group qualifying, which features several cars on the clock at the same time. Race time is 7 p.m. The spectator gates and the ticket office will open at 5 p.m.
