MORAN CHEVROLET-STAN YEE MEMORIAL 150 RACE DAY IS HERE!

(Flat Rock, MI—July 25, 2014): One of the largest field of outlaw Late Models of 2014 will hit the track at Flat Rock Speedway tonight for the Moran Chevrolet-Stan Yee Memorial 150. The ARCA Discount Tire Gold Cup Series event should see a field of over 30 cars in competition for tonight’s 150 lap contest.

A total of 24 Late Models took part in a 3-hour practice session at “The Rock” Friday night. While not all cars used the transponder timing system, Brad Riethmeyer, in Bob Fox’s #56, had the fast lap of the evening at 11:732, followed by current Gold Cup point leader Dakota Carlson. Derek Wiley, Jim Bailey and Jack Varney Jr. were the top 5 on the practice charts.

Bailey, Dan Trosen Jr., Don St. Denis and Chris Benson took practice laps and are now entered for the prestigious race, in honor of Stan Yee Sr. Ohio’s Jimmy Carter, former Flat Rock champ Royce Cornett and veteran Michael Simko were also at the track Friday, but are unsure of their plans for tonight’s race.

Friday’s pit pass purchasers were treated to dinner after practice, courtesy of DTS Drive Train Specialists.

Practice, qualifying, last –chance races, a 25 lap B Main (if over 32 cars) and the 150 lap main event are on the schedule. The track’s ARCA Praxair Figure 8 division will also be in action for the biggest race night of the season at the track.

Today’s schedule has the pit area opening at 1:30, practice begins at 3, time trials are at 5:30 and racing begins at 7 p.m. The spectator gates will open at 3 p.m.
